The baby walker is a proven method of helping your baby to reach those first steps

The baby walker is a proven method of helping your baby to reach those first steps on their own and it also keeps them safe whilst they are learning this new experience of walking.

However, choosing the right one can be daunting task. A good baby walker can help your baby explore this key stage in their development and give them the confidence to take their first steps alone.

There are two types of baby walkers out there, the first is the typical seated walker. The seated walker will grow with your baby because they can start out sitting in it before they’re really ready to take those first steps. The other type is a sit-to-stand walker which is better for helping your baby who is already standing and maybe even taking a few steps on their own.

Babies love the freedom a walker gives them, but they need to be safe while they’re exploring. Make sure you find a wide base that will stop your baby venturing where they shouldn’t. Look for anti-slipping pads and a speed reducer to stop them going too fast.

Look for things that will keep your baby entertained. Look for toy attachments, musical additions and shapes to play with.

As your baby grows it would be beneficial to invest in a baby walker that will grow with them. Look for adjustable height settings, functions that will enable to walk for themselves and a comfy padded seat.

You can use the baby walker as a push-along walker to give your baby confidence as they start to move around. Do watch over your baby as they use the walker and never let them hit things as much as possible.
